This is what they meant when they said invest in "stalks" right? I mean...close enough. Grab your garden gloves and shovel - This is Stalk Exchange.
~~~
Stalk Exchange has a simple premise. You are planting flowers in a community garden in order to manipulate the "stalk market". This will turn a profit, winning you the game. However, the highest valued flowers will crash and drop to half their value. So be careful in what you heavily invest in.
~~~
Your turn is easy: Either plant flowers in the garden trying to surround other flowers (which in turn sends them to the market) OR exchange flowers in the market with ones in your secret stash. Flowers are planted as seeds first and only grow if adjacent to an empty space. You can do at most two things on your turn, unless you use a seedy business token (garden shovel) to play a few more. Once they're gone they're gone.
~~~
Eventually enough flowers will be added to the market and cross another flower on the track ending the game.
~~~
Stalk Exchange is cozy. It has a calmness to it that doesn't burn out your brain. We've come to enjoy this as a wind down game at the end of the day where we want something to enjoy, but not super involved. If you enjoy stock market games I feel this will be enjoyable for you. The garden planting to manipulate the market is a nice twist on raising stock values and it doesn't outstay it's welcome. Cozy is a good thing and so are moments spent with Stalk Exchange.
