Arcs

Arcs

We've been playing Arcs, designed by Cole Wehrle and Illustrated by @d20plusmodifier

Opening a fresh @ledergames game is always exciting. Filled to the brim with new art from Kyle Ferrin (My favorite board game artist), new strange mechanics to explore from the master designer Cole Wehrle, and many days to look forward to playing it with friends.

I don't know if my eyes deceived me when looking over the Arcs campaign for the first time, but I thought it had said the game was for a minimum of 3 players. Which somewhat means it'll be tougher to get to the table. So, imagine my surprise to see on the box "2-4 players" when it arrived. ✨

What got me the most eager to play this new design was the fact it had Trick-Taking elements as a main mechanic for taking actions. If you know me, you would know I LOVE trick-taking games. I love how versatile they are and how many different ways they can be changed to create a whole new game!

And the trick-taking aspect did not disappoint.✨

Having played Arcs four times now (and many more plays to come at all player counts) I can tell you that this game is an absolutely a dream. I'm constantly thinking about it and what strategies I want to try next. What powers will get mixed together? How can I get better at the trick-taking aspect? How do I play the design from a war game perspective?

There is so much to sink your teeth into here and we haven't even tried the campaign expansion yet. This game is looking to be one of my top, if not THE top game of the year for me.
